Introduction

At Greenville Alliance Church, we believe strongly in God’s amazing power to transform lives. We believe that transformation is a life-long process as we learn to obey Him, serve Him and ultimately love Him. In GROW Kids Ministry, we strive to teach kids how to allow Christ to begin working that transformation in each area of life, providing a strong foundation upon which a kid can build a life-time of growth in wisdom, strength, and stature.

We have a variety of ministries, just as we have a variety of kids with varied interests and gifts. Our goal is to meet your kid where he or she is, embracing their unique qualities where they are. To reach that goal, we strive to have ministries through sports, song, drama, learning, games, and much more. We believe each kid is special, important, and loved. We strive to meet the needs of the kids individually, as well as parents as the primary spiritual disciplers in a kid’s life.

In GROW Kids, we aim for your kid to learn and grow in a fun, but safe atmosphere. Our facilities are equipped for safety, our volunteers have background checks and clearances, and our staff is CPR/ First Aid and AED certified. We love your children and it shows!

Luke 2:52: “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.”

GROW Nursery

Coordinator: Paige Byler

Nursery care is available during the 10:30 am worship service on Sunday mornings, currently. Our goal is to provide a happy, healthy, and safe environment where parents can feel comfortable leaving their child while they are in worship, class, or serving elsewhere in the church. GROW Nursery is for infants to kids age 3. At age 3, kids are encouraged to join the GROW Kids Ministry.

GROW  Kids Sunday School

Kids meet at 9:20 am on Sunday mornings for a Large Group time to sing, learn a Bible lesson, and interact as a group with each other and our leaders. For GROW Kids, we teach lessons from the Orange curriculum, which “is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus.” We want kids to wonder at Who God is, discover Who He created them to be and become passionate about their faith and purpose as children of God.

Each month, kids learn new Bible lessons, a monthly memory verse, and have faith challenges to practice living their faith at home, in school, or in the community. Each month has a different theme, with an overarching word or phrase to focus on, such as “Confidence in God” or “Gratitude.”

Kids also spend time in small groups on Sunday morning, divided into ages. We invite all kids from age 3 through 5th grade for Sunday School.

GROW Kids Church

During the 10:30 am service, kids are dismissed following the worship music to learn Bible lessons that are presented for kids age 3 through 5th grade. Our lessons go along with the theme of GROW Kids, which changes monthly. The lessons are Bible-based, engaging, and applicable to the kids’ daily lives. We incorporate music, activities, and children’s storybooks in GROW Kids Church.

GROW Kids in Missions

GROW Kids seeks to teach kids to serve others in a variety of ways. We want to show kids that no matter their age or size, they can serve God and serve others with their time, talents, and treasures. Kids are encouraged to participate in service projects around the community, such as park clean-ups, visiting a nursing home, and sorting school supplies and backpacks for kids in need. We also frequently send cards to encourage International Workers around the world, color pictures or cards for shut-ins from our church, or collect goods needed for various ministries around the community.

We also have Sundays that are focused on learning about the cultures and work done by International Workers around the world. We believe it is important to introduce kids to the bigger world and the differences in beliefs and cultures from a Biblical worldview, even when they are young. We encourage questions and exploration of what we believe and what others believe as part of the discovery of Who God is and who we are as His children.
