GAC Young Adults
Who are our young adults?
Hard to put a label on, we categorize young adults as a college a career group, typically in the age range from 18-30. This group services those both in school or jumping right into careers, married or single. We hope that this can serve as a landing place for those looking to get involved in the life of the church.
When do they meet?
Currently meeting for a Sunday School time at 9:30 between services.
What else do they do?
We are excited to be growing our Young Adult offerings both at the church and in the community. As this is a newly formed piece of our ministry we are still trying to find what fits our needs best. We do have a partnership with the local college to run a bible study on Thursday nights at Fresh Grounds Coffeehouse.
We also have entered into a partnership with Jess Vormelker to work on campus with students.

Jess Vormelker
Jess Vormelker was hired as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Thiel College in April of 2023. She will be working closely with the students at Thiel by advising the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) on campus and the Thiel Bible Study, as well as helping us run our Young Adult Group during the summer. Jess is a 2019 graduate of Thiel College, so she is very familiar with the College. As a student, she was an Early Childhood and Special Education major. She was a member of the Women’s Basketball program and was involved in the Thiel Bible Study, in addition to FCA. After graduation, Jess went on to be a graduate assistant with the Women’s Basketball team at Waynesburg University. At WU, she was involved with FCA. After graduating from Waynesburg with a Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2021, she became the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Allegheny College.
